This tutorial will explain how to work with the Cod4 mpdata editor. There are two ways of loading up a map in the editor: Method one: Load up any map (including Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: World at War) and go to Tools, then click on "Open in Mpdata Editor" Method two: Find any map that has been opened with the editor and right-click on it, then click "Open in Mpdata Editor" Once you've loaded up a map, you can use the scroll wheel on your mouse to zoom around inside it. There are three default colors: green, blue and red. Green is the terrain texture and will be replaced with whatever you choose in the "New Terrain Texture" field. Blue is the water texture and will be replaced with whatever you choose in the "New Water Texture" field. Red is for objects/buildings/etc and will be replaced with whatever you choose in the "New Object Texture" field. The next few sections will explain how to use each of these fields. To make a new texture, enter the textured field and press the "Add" key. Pressing this key will display all of your textures and you can select one by pressing the right mouse button and clicking on it (or pressing left click and dragging). Repeat this step for as many different textures you want. Once you've selected your texture, press the scroll wheel on your mouse to zoom into the editor. In order to change a texture's color, go to the "New Terrain Texture" field and use either of two ways: Method 1: You can change one of your textures from inside the editor by going to Tools > Open in Mpdata Editor > Options > Change Color... > Browse... > Select a color from the sprite in the image > Use Selected Color. Method 2: You can change a texture from outside of the editor by going to Tools > Open in Mpdata Editor > Options > Change Color... Once you've changed a texture's color, go back inside the editor and make sure your textures are still selected (you'll see a blue outline around them). There is another field that says "Texture Alpha" and this changes how transparent or opaque your textures are. Use this for your own preference, but if you want your texture to look exactly like it does in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, set its value to 1.00. The water texture is a little different from the terrain texture. You can still change its color, but you cannot change its alpha. Objects have a little different setup as well. In the "New Object Texture" field, you cannot use the "Add" key to make a new texture as it will not work. Instead, use the scroll wheel on your mouse to zoom into the editor and click on Tools, then click Arrange Objects > New Texture... > Browse... > Select a texture. After this is done, you can use the same two methods above to change a texture's color and transparency. eccc085e13
